weekend wish list: electric blue

             from the top:
Swedish Hasbeens Covered High ($99 + $60 shipping)
Mulberry Edie Large Shoulder Bag ($1,175)
             Michael Kors Chronograph Watch ($195)

As I've said in previous posts, I'm not much of a risk-taker when it come to my clothes, but do I tend to gravitate towards accessories that make a bit of a statement.  Right now I'm on the hunt for something in electric blue.  And I'm definitely not the only one who is fixated on this hue -- take a look at today's post on Color Me Nanathis post on Fashionnerdic, or this post on The Glamourai.  (I point this out, by the way, solely so that I can pat myself on the the back for having such exceptional taste.)

Also, a happy note about last weekend's wishlist: American Apparel totally surprised me this past week by re-releasing their medium leather carry-all pouch in sunshine yellow.  Concerned that I might miss out if I waited too long, I bought one immediately, and it would appear that a lot of other people did the same, because that color has once again disappeared from the site.  The other colors also seem to be moving quickly, but as of right now, you can still snag one in crimson, dark peach, dark lavender, sky blue, melon green, or bright green.  I suggest that you act fast.

  2. electric blue and I have had a long standing love affair. It's tough to find the right shade I think. Some are not blue enough, or too dark, it's a finicky shade. Love your picks though, all covet-able.

  4. Nnenna, if I won the lottery, my first handbag splurge would totally be at Mulberry. Their designs always seem classic yet modern, and I really love the color palettes from the most recent collections.

Anna, I agree about the finicky-ness of electric blue. It's such a good color for brunettes, though, which is why I've always been a big fan. Of the three items on my wish list, I think that the shade of the Mulberry bag is my favorite. Lighter shades of electric blue, like the one on the MK watch, run the risk of looking a little plastic or kindergarten-esque, you know?

Helen, if those blue Swedish Hasbeens were available in my size, I'd seriously buy them right now, despite the $50 charge to have them shipped to the US. If you wear a size 35, I envy you. I just recently splurged on a pair of the red t-straps, and I could not speak more highly of them. They are super comfortable and extremely well-constructed, and they make me smile every time I look at my feet.
